Went to the dentist earlier in the week. Now i neednt wear my home whitening kit anymore - the stains on my teeth are pretty much gone and gel aint cheap ($75 for 4 really small syringes). Just need to maintain by using the gel for bout 2 days every 2 - 3 months.
So, wanna see the before and after photos? =) Anyway, I just wan to say that my teeth is like this because of excessive flouride ok...hahaha I brush my teeth at least twice a day. I didnt have these stains because I'm a disgusting person with poor oral hygiene!

AFTER:
Not only that, my gums are healthier now too from all the regular flossing.
Since my dentist is so awesome, I shall recommend her! The whole clinic has the friendliest staff ever!

poof, phews, poofff. I feel like I can finally take a breather after chionging assignment after assignment. One last assignment, then exams!
Think I slpt like only 2 hours at best due to being tired beyond tired and ended up couldnt sleep! I was quite in a daze plus a little slow in speech the entire morning. But i think the final straw was during my sms conversation with Ben:
Ben: ... So sleepy. O boy hope later in meeting won't crumble like you. [haha i 'crumble' when i'm very tired, like almost 90 degrees face flat on my knees, or if i lean back, my mouth will be like :O totally unglam i know! guess its better to crumble then to :O ]
Seb: [so i shoot him back by saying the way he sleep is worst...] I think you should hope you'll crumble like me rather than you end up lying on the next person's soldiers or drooling all over your uniform haha :p
hahahah. did you see that?
Ben: WhaHaha lying on the next person SOLDIERS? You mean SHOULDER? Oh man. Classic.
o.o" I swear it was because I AM DAMN TIREDDDDDDDDDDDD!
Anyways, just came back from the dentist. She said my teeth is at the whitest shade for the teeth colour chart now! woot! I asked her to send me the pic of before and after hehehe. Show ya all when I get it! xD
i think things are looking brighter, with all the ticks. just two more assignments to go, then exams, then China trip!
in the midst of doing all the assignments, Ben kept watching videos of the exciting rides in Chimelong Water Park and Chimelong Paradise. We both even dreamt that we were there and taking rides! Ok, his was a nightmare. that we kept wasting his time by taking bo liao rides and he ended up not having the chance to sit his thrilling rides. what a nightmare right! he's so drama! Mine was also a nightmare i guess - that i was on this ride (omgosh SO SCARRY!) =/
Never had the habit of celebrating Halloween. Think the last time I did it could probably be during poly days. Had my reservations about this gathering/party at Bayshore's function room (which is so nice!)... didnt want to go due to previous day's fever, plus lots of assignments to hand in. However, had to go due to a last minute inform that our Sorry, Sorry dance is one of the items on the list :/ Nevertheless, I'm healed by God's grace - never had a fever and be well so soon. Must be the prayers, thanks! N had much fun there =)
styled my bf up a little with my fav scarf and daddy's ray-ban!
lol, real vintage ray-ban is your daddy's!
Liz and Cheryl bought quite a lot of cute party stuff and we had fun with them!
wow, think my bf looks especially good here!
hahaha! michael is so funny!
the cute couple, anlie/napan (Andy + Napalie), besides Seben hehe.
food and gamessss~
to end off the night, we did the last item! -
haha, sucha fun dance! and addictive too!
snaps!
back to assignments! 4 more only!!!!
btw, i heard so many good reviews about HTC Hero. heh. I think I shall get it tomorrow night! xD
As Kaze ps us at the last minute, we decided to bring pseudo-Kaze to the halloween 'party' instead. hahah. Kaze's new toy, which is in our hands, and mercy! stick out tongues out like Kaze!
eat Kaze up!
cross our eyes like Kaze! din noe i couldnt cross my eyes as much as i thought i could.
Took some photos to commerate the day we wore the same (Saturday actually). hahaha, we had so much fun taking these photos! :D
yea, one of the very extremely rare times he 'camwhored'.
it was totally candid, random and spontaneous. (so pardon my amateurish poses and really big eye balls for one of the pics hahah!)
thinking of developing this photo to put it up with the rest of the 10 pics on the wall! :D
memories :)
neways, its the last of my black hair you'll see. a sneak preview of how it looks now ;)
the haircut looks different from all sides - like what my hairstylist calls it: 3 hairstyles on one head.
Since I really like my hairstylist (Alan) a lot, I shall spread the word bout him! I'm very impressed by his skills, creativity and friendliness. Each time I go to him, he comes up with an entirely different hair cut for me. Not like going to the hairdresser and cutting the exact hairstyle again and again. He's very friendly, not pushy, and a very good father too. Watching how he converse with his daughter amazes me, and would definitely make anyone wish you have a daddy like that. He's so gentle, not pressurizing and encouraging when he spoke to her, asking her bout her exams today.
Here's the contact details if you wanna try out. He's awesome.

wish me luck for my Social Studies presentation on MOE's policies for exceptional students tmr!
The outlook of my life for the next few weeks till 17 Nov 11:30am is pretty gloomy, with lots of assignments to look ahead to. 18 Nov - the day Ben and I will go China!!! Cant wait for that, and yet dont want time to pass so fast because time feels like its flying. Whole of Sunday gone, with little progress in work! x_x
Jia you to all who is facing the same predicament as me.
As you probably should have heard about the 5 love languages, I suddenly thought about it the past few days. I was feeling pretty loved by friends, and unloved by bf and I realized whats the problem:
Hahhaa, I'm really beaming with delight over Eunice's casual comment on facebook for days which actually motivated me to continue my exercise routine just to maintain that 'petite' physique (otherwise I'll risk looking like a humpty dumpty - short and ROUND). Must maintain that pair of awesome legs too HAHAHAH!
i'm such a sucker for words of affirmation! hahaha, or rather, compliments! they make me happy for a long time :D
On the other hand, I was pretty upset with my bf for the lack of quality time for extended period of time. So, he's been on off and all the past two days and we're trying to improve things hehe! In fact, we had quite a lot of fun today during badminton and swimming! I LAUGHED a lot when i saw him in swimming trunks! it just looks DAMN FUNNY! I still remember when I first saw it in my cupboard - my sis asked me for a black tube, and i passed her the trunks. She had a shock at first, not knowing what it was. After that, we laughed crazily because the trunks are REALLY SMALL.
anyway, its really odd how people ask me for tagboard when i dont have one, and when i have one FINALLY, no one tags!! :( hahaha cherish the tagboard leh, it might not be there for long!
I think there are too many occasions when I look for someone because I feel lonely, I need company, I need encouragement, I need support, I need someone to be there, I need love, etc. And then it hit me when I read this:
Was reading a friend's friend's blog and instantly loved the way her blog uplifts you. Some blogs have so much vulgarities and upsetting things that it makes you think life sucks and feel the spirit of darkness/depression engulfing you. This blog, on the other hand, never fails to lift my spirits up and sometimes, enlightens and encourages me.
Sandra was sharing with me about her life and I felt really touched by her sudden act. I instantly recalled what I read in my friend's friend's blog and realized how true it was when she said:
Vulnerability
is
power.

When
you
open up,
others
open up.
Her sharing made me feel open to share about whats going on in my life, and in turn, I felt our friendship growing stronger.
Maybe you can try it too. Open yourselves up, and others will do the same.
Just to share - this friend's friend's blog can be found here. =)
Oh, what delight when I suddenly had the urge to confirm if the history's class is on with iggy.....and I found out that ITS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY TOMORROW?! :D :D Gosh, its like some last minute bonus for me esp since I'm all prepared to spend the whole day at the library tomorrow. Not that the holiday is much of a difference actually, cos I will still be busy. Lots of assignment deadlines coming up in early Nov, and I should really start now if I dont want to die then.
My mind is just echoing the guitar hero's School's Out song right now... No more pencils No more books No more teachers..........
Anyway, heres wishing my sister a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I think the whole cell group is really generous and loving to pool in some money to buy her a lomo cam! heh, some credits to me for the idea and hours of researching on lomo cams of coss! and credits to liz and cheryl for taking time to go buy it :)
I gave her a personal present too - so now she has 2 cameras! A camera necklace (with flashlight) haha! plus a Diana Mini lomo cam! :D Her wish for a camera semi came true!
Its been a year after my oh-so-dramatic pass for driving license and you can read the entry here. Thou I dont have a car of my own, I would consider that I drive pretty a lot, esp almost everyday when Ben rented car for a few months and besides that, I drive my dad's car a couple of times a week.
I honestly dont think I drive like 'those women drivers' that people have developed a stereotype against. In fact, I actually think I drive better than some male drivers, just like I play dota better than some males too (however low the percentage is!)
Nonetheless, I gotta admit that the things some female do on the road is pretty funny, and thanks to Daniel who introduced this video on the silly things female drivers do:
Its been almost a year now, since the exhilarating trip up a part of Eastern Himalayas during my India YEP (youth expedition trip). We trekked from the village we volunteered at, Sikkim, to Zongri - a peak that will overlook the whole of Kanchendzonga peaks, and Mount Kanchendzonga herself (world's 3rd tallest mountain, standing at 8585m).
Even though the trek nearly killed me, I think its the most exciting thing I have done this whole life. =]
the trek at the beginning was relatively easy with minimal steep slopes but rather long distance. We crossed bridges that linked mountains, with rapids below. The sound of water was somehow delightful, like another milestone passed.
we slowly passed lush green trees and were soon surrounded by more bare trees - quite interesting to see temperate climate vegetation with characteristics like sharper leaves (some needle-like) to preserve fluid.
think I'm pretty weak but pretty awesome too haha. Oddly, I never passed 2.4km before and I managed to complete this. Awesome or wad?!
First day: 16km trek to trekker's hut A Second day: 12km trek to trekker's hut B Third day: 3km trek to peak 12km trek back to trekker's hut A Fourth day: 16km trek back to village
Seriously, this whole thing was no joke. Esp with the high altitude sickness. Mine started earlier than the rest with horrible headache, nauseousness and difficulty in breathing around the peak area. A few of the rest got more serious thereafter, with vomitting and all. And first time see Xue Min so quiet due to her sickness.
sick people got to sit the only 2 horses shared among all 10+ of us.

Can appreciate the scenery while eating at Trekker's Hut A, how beautiful =)

So nice to be above the clouds - a total different feeling :)
The third day at the peak:

Since PY's birthday was nearing, the whole group threw her a surprise during dinner-
she was totally surprised!
and touched.
celebrate your birthday in the mountains, how special!
Thats all the photos I've selected to put up!
One last photo - that spells goodbye to the mountains
really love all the photos! They are photos that cannot just be taken anywhere. It came with a lot of pain (and a tinge of joy plus knowing who your true friends are). Friends who waited for you, friends who extended a helping arm to support you during difficult terrain and friends who take care of you even though they are feeling sick too =)
I know I will never have made it if not for them =)
I think a spoilt iPhone really gave me a lot of trouble - taking a lot of time to figure out how to get it ok, and after realizing that its a lost case, I spent a lot of time researching of phones to see what I can get. At first, due to monetary constraints and a naggy bf who is thrifty, I gave up my another-iPhone or how-about-a-blackberry or I-always-wanted-a-Prada-phone ideas, and was semi-convinced to get some cheap hp and make do with it. :/ So I kinda half-heartedly decided on either Samsung's OmniaPro, Nokia E63 or E71. However, I somehow can feel that they're still not the one. Almost like buying for the sake of buying. Finally today, I took notice of HTC Hero when my mother kept asking me to check out HTC Touch Cruise. Upon reading up on it more, I was shocked to find out that the UI (user interface) is exactly what I loved about iPhone's conversational sms type. Moreover, it even adds the individual's emails, twitter msgs, call history, profile details, in just different tabs. Love that!
I hunted Singtel, Starhub and M1 shops eagerly...looking for the cheapest one. Singtel - $498. Possibility of $100 voucher for new sign up. Need to call 1626. M1 - $598 wtf! Starhub - $468 ($100 off for new sign ups but its recontract for my case)
somehow was quite disheartened that theres no display set to see, starhub is out of stocks, etc. Then suddenly, Ben said he would buy an iPhone for me. I was SHOCKED beyond belief! That coming from my thrifty boyfriend. Previously, he kept saying the phones I want are "just for status, just get a cheap one (free one better) that can be used. Best is Nokia 3210." x_x I was so extremely touched that he was willing to part with his money even though he is quite tight on money now...and in the light of our upcoming China trip in Nov. Hehe, I told him that I still want HTC Hero! At least he pays lesser, and its better than iPhone and Blackberry Bold according to reviews of those previous users who switched to Hero! =)
HTC Hero's Sense UI
thank you so much Mr Ben Tan! :D
I was also very touched by my mother offering to pay $250 for my phone. She thought and pondered for a few months on what phone to buy, waiting for prices to drop etc and is very thrifty with her spending but she just offered to pay for my phone without me asking!
Gah, sometimes I feel so stressed and frustrated :( I wish there aren't more things on my list to be upset about. I always liked things the way they are, but things have to change now and its absolutely disruptive to my life. I can only pray for strength to be able to go through this.....

Well, things I have for the next week - (if I dont blog, you know why) Monday: Social Studies Differentiated Instruction Lesson Plan (50%) Tuesday: Test on How to Set a Test (30%) Wednesday: Math Test Construction (50%)- to think that any pupil would think that its damn easy to set a test.... ITS NOT. OMG! Friday: Social Studies Presentation (40%)
Had a panic attack last night, just thinking about my status of work done and the amount of work I have ahead.
Still, would like to share a nice quote I heard from a guest speaker last night:
"Success is going from failures to failures without losing enthusiasm."
I finally felt disturbed enough about my teeth colour to do something about it this week, and did some research on Google to find the rates and a place to do it. I realized most of the locations that advertise on the Sponsored Search are in Orchard. Felt a little lazy and decided to search for "dental clinics bukit timah" instead. I finally narrowed down to two:
I must say - the website really makes a difference in your perception. A good website looks much more professional and thus, Smile Clinique's site is pretty sloppy as quite a few sublinks write "content to be placed here".
White Dental Group's charges: Check up: $35 - $50 Light system to activate gel whitening: $900
Both are pretty different methods of whitening and I had trouble choosing. In the end, I called both clinics again and asked for the shade of whitening they could guarantee.
Smile Clinique: 2 - 4 shades difference White Dental Group: up to 8 shades difference!!
HAHAHA! Being a typical Singaporean, one would definitely pick the 8 shades one right, even though there is a mini 'up to'!
Fixed my appointment on Thurs and there goes! I was very surprised to have a female dentist, and a very young one at that. She's super friendly and gentle. Its the first time a dentist really took soooooo much time explaining every single thing to me plus showed me pictures etc. She even taught me the correct way to floss, step-by-step! and made sure I did it correctly in front of her first before I could go home. Hahah. So different from all the dentists I've visited - they always just say "remember to floss your teeth everyday". Then I will go "orrh" and do it only when I remember and dont feel lazy.
Anyway, turns out that my teeth discoloration is due to...... (oh gosh, this is embarrassing) lolExcessive flouride ingestion. Meaning I took too much flouride when I was young. The amount on the teeth after brushing is fine..... but if one consumes it... then it may cause excess flouride in the body. Blame it on the delicious strawberry and apple flavoured kid's toothpaste! =X Eh, why my sis says that she ate toothpaste when she was young too but her teeth looks fine? x_x
She recommended home whitening and a less strong gel to slowly whiten over time in order to achieve uniformed results. Takes bout 4-5 weeks to work. Let's see how it turns out! =)
Latest News: Tremors all over Singapore due to Indonesia's Earthquake!
JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.9 struck in Indonesia on Wednesday, the U.S Geological Survey said.
The quake was recorded about 33 miles (53 km) from Padang, the capital city of West Sumatra, Indonesia.
(just 30 minutes ago)
I was swimming while it happened and if wonders if me feeling queasy while swimming has anything to do with it. I remember the days when I still lived in Punggol with the numerous fish tanks plus dangling things. When the tremors happened, the water would sway from side to side pretty violently plus those dangling things will start swinging about. Also, my sliding chair would start sliding a bit back and forth and everything gets really dizzy.
Once I was sleeping while it happened somewhere in 2007. I was so tired but the long tremors kept me up, rocking the bed continuously...and i was so nauseous!
I believe quite a lot of places felt it, almost all over the island I believe...as I look at all the earthquake tweets on twitter. lol. how instant news spread these days.
I think I'm leading a pretty boring life right now, so I dont exactly have much to blog about for the moment.
Been wanting to put up this pic for some time - On the Sorry, Sorry Dance Skit day! W133, my dear brothers and sisters L to R: Silas, Andy, Ben, Daniel, Napalie, Ching Ghee, Elizabeth, Seb, Sandra, Cheryl, Cindy, Hel
Anyway, seems like many think that the putting a wet hp in rice barrel works.... I tried it, only to end up with many rice bugs ard the phone hahaha. My iPhone is a goner, but still, thank you Ben for helping me try to open up the phone, and thank you Michael for helping me open up my phone. I'm using my dad's very old Sony Ericsson phone now.. my friend saw it and commented on how vintage it looks x_x maybe its still better than the Nokia 3210 that Ben wanted to lend me (quite luckily, it cant even start up).
Its a little sad that the iPhone is dead....as it holds a lot of memories between Ben and me. If not for the iPhone, I wouldnt have gotten closer to Ben! hahaha. I once used my iphone problems as an excuse to look for him... =X Moreover, the conversation kinda SMS stores our smses to each other. I always like to read from the beginning of times and observe how the smses get a littler more flirty, full of hints, etc HAHA xD
Now, heres a list of things I would really love to get (hint hint, wasted my bday is still a long way): 1) HANDPHONE! always wanted Prada phone...maybe this is the chance. However, I'm really very used to iPhone! Either one. :D:D 2) Would love to have a squash racket!
I placed my green apple milk tea in my bag and forgot about it....................... i dunno what happened but by the time i remembered, it 'exploded' or had a bad leak - 3 quarters of my milk tea leaked out into my bag. The worst thing is.... my whole side compartment was flooded, and my hp was there. SO....my hp was flooded in milk tea... It kept dripping milk tea... omg :( it went inside the phone!! When I shake my phone, liquid would leak out. Its that bad. :(
So, i cant contact anyone for now. =/ if you need to get me, pls contact me through Ben okiee.
My friends keep asking if I'm sad. Well, I feel half-sad, because I have faith that it would be ok somehow.. (gonna 'lay hands' on my phone later) lol.
I had a pretty tough week, having to complete 2 lesson plans, 1 presentation and 1 test by Friday. Was pretty stressed out but fortunately, Ben helped me quite a bit and it did relieve some load. Just had 2 things to thank God for.
On Thursday, I drove to school. I dunno what I was doing or thinking the whole day, due to lack of sleep and high stress level. Got honked at twice while driving, once to school and once home. The one in the morning was nothing much. But, I must really thank God that nothing happened on my way home. I wanted to filter right and saw a car in my side mirror. Dunno why I thought it passed me, so I turned quite right cos there was a stationary bus in front of me. I really think it was almost a 100% chance of accident because of the angle of my turn. I got a shock as I realized too late. Nonetheless, God is good and right at that moment, I know that it is definitely God's hand of protection. (seriously...phew.)
On Friday, after another 3 hours of sleep day, I had to take my math test. Its pretty stressful when pple from the other class tells you that the test is difficult :(( When I did the paper.... I cant even do the second part of the first question already. I skipped at least half of the paper and was quite disheartened. I prayed and prayed and I thought it was quite miraculous that everytime I prayed, I could suddenly see the light to one question! At the last 15 mins, I stared at the word problem that I never managed to solve since primary school:
(something like this) A and B were running on a 400m track in the stadium. A took 2 mins to complete a round, while B took 2 mins 30 secs to complete a round. At which minute will A overtake B in the tracks? C and D were running in the opposite direction. If D overtake C in the 8th minute , what was C's speed?
Woah, I drew ovals, I used a pen and a pencil and tried to pretend they are running, I cracked my brains but I just couldnt do this question! Of course, I prayed for wisdom and clarity of mind to tackle this question and then..... I started writing and writing. I dunno what I'm writing and where the steps are taking me to. But anyhows, I just ended up with A will overtake B at the 10th minute. Such a nice whole number, so it should be correct? :D:D
Stared at my watch again. 1 last minute. I looked at the second part of the first question: 2,3,6,18,108. Its the only question I left unanswered. Suddenly, I got a revelation to reread the instructions. I realized that it was asking is the number sentence arithmetric progression or geometric progression. What if.... ITS NOT BOTH?! hahaha. My lecturer said last sentence...and I hurriedly wrote that its neither.
Yep, the test is over and I felt really good and pretty confident in fact. I know that it is not by my own might but by the grace of God that I pulled through this week, did not get into an accident and did well for my test =)
Just brought my laptop to the service centre for reformat. Quite a fast process as they just swapped my hard disk for a brand new one! At least I dun have to worry about a persistent or immune laptop that is resistant.
Feels so good now that everything is fast again, and I can connect to the internet. Love the brand new feeling! :D :D
On a random side note, I think I just met the most amazing Malay guy hahha. Someone else took my chair while I was away, but he immediately offered me his chair and everything. (if its me, i might have hack care... that's why I'm so touched) As he was leaving, he put on his specs and flashed a big white smile. woah, like the lawyer in the korean drama, "My Fair Lady".
On Sat after spending big bucks on Japanese food at Nihon Mura, Dan and I made an informal pact to cut inches off our waist! For me, its a little too unrealistic to aim for 24 inch waistline, so I'm going for 25 inch haha.
What have I been doing so far? My amount of eating still remains about the same - which is little. Adding a lot of fruits into my diet. Besides eating healthily, I always believed that the main method of losing those unwanted fats is through EXERCISING. So, I have been running everyday. If you had known me well, you would know that I have never passed 2.4km NAFA run before.. =X I have bad stamina and cant exactly run for nuts.. Therefore, when I ran 1.2km nonstop at speed 10 on the treadmill, I felt really accomplished. I want to thank my ..... Ben :) Cos he pushed me and believed in me that I could do it. It never crossed my mind! So far, I'm pretty inspired by Kerry's method of super cardio - interval training. (show me the video soon, Kerry!) Tried 5 sets today of 150m speed 12 and speed 4 intervals. Will slowly increase the sets :D Jiayou DAN, I'm working hard on my goals.... U should TOO!
okie, back to assignments. . . . Have a nice week ahead =)
29 Aug 2009 is like another birthday for ben and me as it signifies the day when the old has passed and we embraced a new spiritual journey. Blogged about this almost a month later because I had been waiting for the professional photos to arrive!
The roof of Jurong West church was super crowded with all the happy people and friends. Would have wished that my mummy had came to support me, rather than stay at home! but, oh well, at least she let me get baptised. good enough.
us with our names on stickers
There was a lot of confusion as we didnt know where to go and all.. in the end, we managed to be quite in front of the queue and be the first 100 to get baptised (first 100 has professional photo taken!) We're 96 and 97...so heng!
I was super nervous. However, when I came out of the water, it felt like a wave of peace came over me :)
Ben's turn.
The dear friends we came to support us did several 'rituals' of symbolism - placed salt into our mouth to represent salt of the earth - held a lighted candle to symbolise light of the world - we ate an apple each to symbolise apple of God's eyes
Xingyi who got baptised on the same day too and us with our baptism certs
thank you dear friends who came to share the joy with us :)) L to R: Wei Lun, Chin Ghee, Daniel, Ben, Elizabeth, Cindy, Xing yi, Seb, Hel, Cheryl, Sandra =)
Yummy yummy Kim's Family Restaurant along Bukit Timah! One fine day, Daniel brought my parents and I there...and then, my parents and i brought my sis and ben. Now, I brought KK and HY :D maybe they should give us some commission for recommending pple to their restaurant, with daniel at the top of the mlm structure. haha.
Hui Yin, Khor Kai, Sebrina Sheliya Goh :D:D very happy with the food!
The beef was.... so tender and juicy!!! Best thing is... we can bbq it ourselves to the degree that we want. The other highlight is the FREE FLOW side dishes!! lolxx
the 10 delicious side dishes; bound to have something for everyone!
Anyway, it was so good that KK requested that we go back there again the following friday, and this time, we brought Audrey along!
adding on to our drawings :D another happy girl!
Since they were so near to my place, I psychoed them to come over, telling them that I have something fun in store for them!! They guessed all sorts of things that I would make them do...like play xbox, 'fly' kite, swim, badminton, etc. but nah, they wont be as fun as this!
Grabbed the fish food and led them to the pond... when they got started, they couldnt stop! ESPP hui yin... who was grabbing like a huge handful and throwing them almost all at once!! (my bottle of fish food depleted pretty fasT!!) At the rate she throws, the $20+ of 5 kg fish food can be thrown away in less than a day. hehehe, im so glad they found it fun. otherwise, it would be sucha flop!
US :) almost like the drawing alr! (i drew KK's hair quite accurately!)
yaay, managed to share my joy with more pple hehehe! maybe I shall psycho my cg pple as they come over to my house for cg this week LOL!! Happy that it wont be at Sengkang anymore, but at my place instead! :D:D
GAHH!! I am so frustrated with my laptop! I cant exactly remember when NIE gave us the HP elitebook (should be bout max a year ago) but its HORRIBLE!! It hangs HALF the time previously... I could put up with that. BUT NOW, it takes VERY LONG to start up... at least a good 10-15 mins due to some start up error which prevents me from going onto the internet. x_x Mummy is repairing it now, while I am using my trustworthy Toshiba protege laptop which I gave to my sis. I must say - Toshiba protege is very durable :) My choice of laptop since poly year 1.
I feel so cheated by HP... now you know why its free. Its SHIT! Moreover, I paid $67 for insurance. I'm so tempted to get a new laptop...and a LIGHT one at that. Enough of carrying the stupid 2.2kg laptop around! I miss those days when my laptop was only 1.1kg. Like a thin book!
Hope my mum can repair the laptop :/ she's so pro right :) a techie mummy.
Maybe I shall end off with what I've been doing......... my new found HOBBY :D :D :D
when I heard that my dad bought 5kg of fish food, I thought he went bonkers. AFTER FEEDING THE FISHES, I CAN TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WHY!
very nice spots to sit around and slowly feed the fish
its very fun to put your fingers into the water and let them suck. tickish too!
fun funn funnn :) I think its because I feel like 'god' and a generous one at that.
Silly sis and me - I had some craving to drive, while she had some craving for food.... SO, we drove out for food!
Woah, thanks for KK for introducing us to Island Creamery at Serene Centre. Even though my sec sch was just 1 half bus stops away, I never knew about this gem cause I was a poor student. Surprisingly, i find the ice cream here pretty affordable!
After trying nutella, milo ping pong, horlicks, fresh banana, reverso (double choc chip), cookies n cream, mud pie and 'cream puff', sis and I decided to try something new........
The Nutty Buddy!
cookies n cream ice cream with nuts, caramel, choc fudge omg its heavenly!!
To return the favour, I brought KK and the rest to Kim's Family (a Korean food restaurant) along Bukit Timah hehehhee. NOW KK loves it so much, shes asking to go back there again later on! Absolutely love the beef that we can cook ourselves with the hotplate....super juicy and tenderrr. Another great part is the.... FREE FLOW SIDE DISHES for kiasu Singaporeans like us who always aim to make our money worth it. Not just a few, but about 9 different kinds of side dishes! :D yumss. I'll take more pics lateR!
I was doing my critical review for an article halfway and started to feel reflective about my whole time here in NIE.
I cant believe I'm year 4... that means I've been here for 4 years.
When I was still a freshie, I kept saying that 4 years would be like secondary school. It passes quickly, and yet feels long too. I can totally recall my freshie days fully: - going for all sorts of FOCs and loving the camp kinda fun - talking about who is the most handsome guy in NIE hahaha. talking or debating? pple dont usually agree with my choice - with Xue Min in history class, watching videos and falling asleep together. Had no idea what the heck was going on at all until dunno which week - Struggled doing Math tutorials with XM and PY in their room, and eventually decided to drop math - eats nothing but prawn mee, cutlet rice, fish & chips butter rice and spagetti: sometimes cant decide between which spag sauce - cream or beef bolognese, so I tell the auntie "half, half" (its actually quite nice!) - always pop by XM and PY's room and leave my roomie behind =X - can stand in hall corridors and talk to pple for hours (how the heck I have so many things to talk about? I'm like so quiet these days) - my hostel room is in a mess, but my wardrobe is super neat with all the clothes nicely hung up - my roomie and i drop hair like mad = sweep like mad too - i enjoyed gossiping. would sit at the canteen the entire break and talk nonstop
NOW, in year 4: - no time to gossip - no hostel or CCA life - learned to eat minced meat noodles recently and quite hooked on it - spent majority of my time in library - have my own fav spot to sit (3rd floor, single seats, right below the security camera so i can pop food into mouth) - lost matric card and IC - not so last minute for assignments of coz =) - does most of my required readings
well, its only week 5 of year 4. However, its about the end of my uni life. what did I achieve during this whole time? - went for cheerleading tryouts and realize my fear of height applies here - tried dragonboat - tried wakeboard and had 3 full days of body ache - tried mock-windsurfing. cant balance and have no strength for this sport - played squash for IBG (inter block games) - played tennis for IHG (inter hall games) against hall 6 (the sports hall) and got trashed - found out my talent for playing reversi, got Silver for IHG - Joined Dance Fuzion for awhile, performed a dance item at Velvet on my bday - Climbed Datuk and Berkelah Falls with ODAC - Went Krabi with ODAC: canoeing, snorkelling then got seasick and puked until my lashes had residues on it (yucks right!) - Went Cambodia to explore Ang Kor Wat (bo pian, my history lecturer made it so enticing) - Went Vietnam organized by NUS Student Union grp - Went Eygpt with XM, PY and Ben - met Ben through XM and PY HAHA :D (its our 17th monthsary today btw!) - Went Sikkim, India on Youth Expedition Project - Went for a total of 8 FOCs
omg, is that all? =/ Thats why I always advice juniors alawys to make full use of their uni life - plan well!
My sister bought a straw hat from Bugis recently, and we had fun wearing it =D
Love it, cept that my sis hair becomes really flat after prolong wearing. Also, friends keep wanting to borrow it, regardless of her retarded looking flat hair. (I'm one of the culprit too) hahha~ It was the star of the day when we went for my baptism and service thereafter on sat!
and for my sister who has been bugging me for a tag specially for her, here goes:
On Sat, my cell grp did a dance skit on the 5 love languages using the song 'Sorry, Sorry' by Super Junior. Hahha, it took quite some time to practice and teach the rest of the cg, but it was quite cool. Daniel's efforts in getting people together and semi-chereographing the dance steps paid off :)
Now, i'm totally addicted to the songggg and I love dancing to the chorus!! Its so catchy :D
What could possibly go wrong, went wrong.. - the guys couldnt wear their jacket in time - i couldnt find my sleeve when wearing the jacket - I FELL off the stage x_x - I took a few hits when Cindy and Liz were putting on their jackets... x_x - we totally forgot about 1 part's dance move and skipped it... leading to too much extra time at a part (luckily isnt too obvious, see if u can pick it!)
but everyone was really supportive!!! :D (my mother said the screams sounded like we were performing in some concert haha!)
Friday - KK wanted so badly to fly some kite, but the weather was bad. There were downfalls at certain areas of Singapore. Hence, we had to cancel our kite flying activity....and opps, I suggested the tea time buffet at Nihon Mura to substitute it :X hahha! My first time trying the buffet...and I must say - ITS FANTASTIC! Totally worth it. People who eat sashimi will love the chioces of sashimi they have there - 5 different kinds i think. People who do not eat sashimi like me, fret not. COS.... theres squid mentai and scallop mentai to make your money's worth!! :D:D Gosh.. the amount of mentai on the scallop is really scary. I was full on MENTAI! woot! All for the price of $15++ for students ($18 after svc charge n GST). Well, it is one buffet I'll totally recommend - cheap price, yummy mentai!
Huiyin ate at least 20 slices of salmon sashimi, if I din do my math wrongly!!
in the midst of all the eating, Audrey tried to teach us some taiwanese pose of taking photos - air in the cheeks and blahblah. well, we tried a little here and there without a mirror. so no idea how retarded we look. dare not snap it in a photo hahah.
Aud and I had a fantastic idea - in the menu, theres vanilla ice cream and coke. We decided to have a coke float to end our meal. We ordered 2 ice cream and popped it in.... (leading to a massive chemical reaction) before everything started flowing out. jeex wad a mess. damn shiok nonetheless! :D
We had the crazy idea to fly kite as the skies cleared. Went to TM's toys'r'us to hunt for a kite.
along the way, we saw something that looks like huiyin:
geex. so many cute soft toys! we couldnt resist taking a photo with them!
Thankfully, they have quite a wide variety of kites there. Ranging from $2.95 to expensive ones. We decided to go for a $2.95 diamond kite and a $4.95 butterfly kite :D
Gosh, we opened up the kites and found that there was only 1 long string with handle....cheat our money! we decided to tie it to the butterfly cos it looked more promising.
it was not easy to fly a kite, esp on a windless day. Aud ran all over the place, dragging the kite on the floor. An uncle nearby couldnt stand the silly sight of us and told us that "even a live butterfly will be dead from all your dragging/pulling along the floor". -_- So many pro uncles there...and they said our butterfly kite is too heavy. We had to untie our dead knot of our only handle..to transfer it to our flimsy diamond kite. No one had scissors so I volunteered my teeth.
(looks like im flossing my teeth) I bit for quite a long time and the string is not a normal string man. It didnt have any effect. THEN, KK took out her keys. With one hit, it cut the string immediately. Wad the!! never take out earlier....
So, how do you think our kite flying went...? Well, lets just say that we had a lot of fun LAUGHING. laughing at audrey, laughing at our CRAZY kite. it basically jus goes up in the air and swing all over the place crazily and zooms back down.
If you knew me a few years back, you would recall that I was super anti-Ktv then. Haha! I even call it as 'against my principles to go K'! I dont know what changed me, but I gradually began to like to sing, even though I dont have a good voice. I think people who sing well wouldnt like to K with me, because I go for the screaming and shouting kinda songs. Super gian to sing K the other day, so I last minute (close to 1am) made a booking for a room at Teo Heng for the next day. :D Been ages since I last went KTV with my sis...at least 2 years I think! It was so fun the last time..cos we will repeat the songs we like...for like 8 times? hahah!! This time, its Ben, my sis and I. It was pretty funny cos my sis and I sing the 'high' kinda songs, while ben sings the sad type. To make it even, we jumbled up the songs..it turned out something like: Boom Boom Pow Now and Forever So What by Pink Bei Pan by Cao Ge All the things she said by T.A.T.U (super screaming song!) Wu Ding Nobody by Wondergirls Then it was another anti-climax song for Ben. He totally sian diao and refused to sing. hahha. ehh, better than all high songs and a series of anti-climax songs right. that would be boring!
hee, we had so much fun! :D
Went church for our baptism class - so that we know the significance, etc. while waiting for Ruth, we sat on cute tiny chairs!
After service that day, we went to Orchard Ion. My very first time there! (Kerry, theres a new shopping centre in SG. quite a few new shopping centres now in Orchard and Bugis) Yeah, quite an eye-opener for me :D Almost like a tourist as we snapped many photos here and there!
Ben said that theres a $40k horse in the food hall. We eagerly took a photo with this, thinking that its the $40k horse cos we couldnt make out what it was.
Then, we walked further on and saw this! This is it!
but i dun see why its $40k! :/ The food in the food hall was okay, but the price was quite steep! Almost everything cost at least $5 and above!
The others left, so the 3 of us went to explore around the exterior of Ion. It was quite a sight. gah, my sister did the pacman pose on me
so, I pacman-ed her back (needed to stand on a higher step!)
a proper photo with no biting around
when we went home... we became pacmen ...i got owned.
Hahha. Rushing a math lesson plan for a few days now, thats why I didnt have time to blog! I have so many photos..... I'll get it up real soon!
Was pondering on how to tell my stylist about my desired hair colour....and decided to do google images search on highlights. Chanced upon some nice hairdos that eventually led me to 'emo' hair. haha, woah. I heard my dad used that term on my american cousin before. I din noe it was a style, just like punk etc. When my dad said my cousin is emo, I thought he meant quiet and 'sad' type. She definitely isnt like that when I met her. She's petite like me, but real cool with all that eyeliner at 16 years old. wow.
Anyways, really liked all these hair style. Would probably print them out and bring it to the stylist during my next visit. Gosh, the highlights/colouring may cost me a bomb thou. Unless I go back to my cheapo home salon at Sengkang (but she was from Kimage!)...... hmm.
Cant decide which is the nicest hehee. What do you think? :)
Think I'll be going all out on the colouring part, because this is the very last time I can do this....before the practicum and 4 year bond starts!!
