Adventure Cambodia - Day 4

This morning, we left hotel at 4.30am just for the sunrise!! Crazy right!??!

When we reached Srah Srang, it was still dark! We slowly and carefully made our way there from the car.

Srah Srang is said to be a chapel to the God of Love. A nice large lake, 700m x 300m, with a landing terrace decorated with small serpent heads.

Beginning of the sunrise....

My first time seeing a sunrise from the start.. from dark to light. Wow =)) I think i did and saw many things for the first time in this trip.

Since we are ard the temple compound, we visited one temple before going back hotel to rest.

Its the Chau Say Tevoda, built btwn the end of 11century to first half of 12century by King Suryavarman II.

The entrance is a 4 face tower.. and it has 4 different facial expressions like the chinese "xi mu ai le" - i think its happy, sad, angry and very happy?

Moving in, we are greeted by a low lying temple.. a different sight as compared to the usual high level temples..Good, coz that means we dont have to climb for a view!

The right gate keeper lion is missing. Probably looted.

Found some carvings that are still in a decent condition to make out what it is. . .

This 2 dancing girls are at the Hall of Dancers.. where all the pillars are decorated with this.

Symbols of Dragon.. looks like something of war yet of peace.. fighting dragons in harmony..?

Being really tired..(hey, we just went clubbing the night b4..and got up so freaking early!), we went for a quickie breakfast. Mark said he wanted to recommend us this place that he always have his breakfast.

We should have thought twice b4 agreeing...

coz when we saw the place, its no turning back!!

The place was kinda dirty.. (we've been eating in fine restaurants so far) So, we made a mental note not to drink their water..or eat anything that is potentially contaminated as Danny has a weak stomach... We chose to share a place of beef fried rice (fried rice again!) which turned out pretty nice! They offered us tea and such..but we just stick to a can of coke.

After that, it was my turn to have diarrhea -_-! How greaT! Seems like its not him being the only one with a weak stomach.. it was me being smart not to drink the orange juice he drank the other day. lols~

A good sleep later, we proceeded on to visit a few more temples on this last day of our Angkor pass.

We visited Ta Keo in Eastern Angkor. It stands out for being the first of all temples to be built entirely of sandstone. Its appearance is all the more massive for being incomplete. Indeed, the temple carving had only just begun when work stopped.

Its very high and big!! So being lazy us, we just climbed a level and walked half of the border.

Over at a corner......

an undersized girl in an oversized world.

Used timer mode and we begun a new series of stunt pics:

Him jumping over me!

Haha, this is so crazy! When we are done, we went to look for our driver..and realized that the place we had been jumping ard was facing a few shops becoz the border wall collapsed there. OMG! We must have been entertaining to watch.. 2 retards running and jumping about!

Ta Prohm next. It is one of the major temples of Jayavarman VII. It is a temple monastery - featuring a set of concentric galleries with corner towers and gopuras, but with many other additional buldings and enclosures. The complexity of its layout is increased by its partly collapsed state, with trees interlaced among the ruins.

The highlights of this temple is the romantic atmosphere with opportunities to explore, many hidden corners and strangler figs and silk-cotton trees entwined among ruins.

However, I found it a disappointing sight because of the restoration works at the front entrance.

We expected much more!! To us, the highlight might be the super huge trees...growing right on the temple walls.

Found several silver / golden tree trunks..

Large portion of it has collapsed... making it impossible to walk into the main compound. We could only walk around it

There are some interesting findings.. carvings we have yet to see in other temples..

Details of people working.. maybe to build this temple.

Serenity.. mediating..

Hmmm, i think this stuff can be used during oral.. for the students to describe what the thgy in the carvings are doing.. because its up to imagination (when you dunno).

Thats how big the trees are!

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention the size of the temple...and how far we had to walk in just to see the temple. The temple proper occupies only 1 hectare out of the total 60... and walking in is about 500m of path through something like a forested area..

Gosh, we are so tired and still have to walk out on that path. Im experiencing extreme fatigue!! Danny tried to take my mind of by pretending we are dota heros -_-!! Walking on the middle lane... then the locals are the neutral creeps, the big trees we see as the defending towers, and some other tourists as random heros we could think of. Well, it helped a little... .. =x

We changed our sunset plan to spa instead because we have ZERO energy to go any other temples le.

-

On first sight, the place looks clean and new. Too new in fact...coz a lot of things wasnt ready.

We had shower then steam bath. In between, there were many blackouts. omg, its pitch dark till i cant even see my fingers.. den have to wait about half a minute to 1 minute for the lights to come back on.

At first, there was only 2 of us. 1 girl wrapped in towel suddenly walked in.. as we sat just outside the steambath, i noticed that theres a towel hung on the door. wad the hell, the girl is naked in there..theres no lock and anyone can open it anytime. dumb. make my danny tempted.
The jacuzzi after that was... Woohoo! the tub itself looks expensive... with the rose petals floating around, bubbles, nice scent and even underwater changing lights, wah... good life!

1 hour of oil message after that~ EHH, good thing danny wore underwear underneath..-_- just a towel covering the body lehz. Message was good and shiok... but kinda ticklish. Den when i laughed and told the girl its ticklish, she will tickle my armpit or feet. =O

All these for USD$30 per person. I think thats a fine deal!

When we left, it was pouring. First time we encountered rain there...and it was flooded to ankle area. Perhaps its the beginning of the rainy season? Good thing we din siao on and stay for sunset...else we would be super sad and disappointed!
