Cultural Cambodia - Day 5

Woke up super early because he kept irritating me. He slept at 9+pm last night, not me! Unfair!

Decided to go swimming despite feeling lazy. Coz in Singapore, he cannot tow me around le.

Being towed around is very fun! So cool to have a lifeguard boyfriend =P he towed me to the deepest end.. which i think is about 2m as he cant touch the floor too. Tried him towing me the fastest he could..and it was really fasT! Then, he pretended to do CPR in water on me.. Thought why he didnt blow my mouth..so i asked him to. WTH!!!! I din noe its blow nose de...got a shock and drank some dirty water. -_-! I enjoy 'swimming' with him =D

For lunch, we.........had.........FRIED RICE AGAIN! Danny said that after this, he will not eat fried rice in SG for a week! Lol!

We went to their Cultural Village that claims it represents Cambodia in half a day. :O USD$9 per person. Seems to be a hot weekend trip for the locals too.

Entering the place....
what a cute statue!

My first time in a wax museum!Kaos, they look damn real...which is kind of freaky.
Khmer Patriach: Chuon Nath

Tribal family

Apsara Sampeah

The whole place is like a maze... So big and minimal directions given.. the map they give are useless also -_-!! In the end, we just walked randomly..

Saw a headless Superman. Maybe its head was looted!

had to keep asking for directions till we reached the first show for the afternoon. Most of their cultural dance focus on their hand actions.. they bend their hands in an inhumane manner. Some of the dances are about courtship.. like this 1:

They have a nice landscape here...
but its all very artificial.

Next, we proceeded to the traditional marriage..which is 1 of the highlights i guess. Theres so many people till we could only stand at a corner to watch.

Danny was approached to be the groom of this fake marriage for fun. -_- Call me a spoilsport but such matters like marriage, you cant pretend for fun! Its a very serious matter to me. They kept pressurizing me to agree...Danny was in a spot. Well, he said that if they approached me to be the bride for some fake marriage to another guy, he wouldnt agree too. Fair, i guess.

This is their traditional marriage...

Next item on the programme is the Chinese cultural dance. This time, we left right after the fake marriage to hurry to the next place.. so that we could have good seats with good view.

Its freaking hot..till some of the kids are topless.. and some only in underwear.

3 kids with a towel over their head.

Their so called chinese dance.......
What a funny sight! I think it has Mongolian origins bah.

While waiting for the peacock dance, ...

little korean kids sitting on the floor to have unblocked view.. so cute!

Their flexibility is amazing... and slightly disgusting...

Peacock dance

Rushing to the next place, we saw these girls.. and took a shot with them:
they are the girls for the next show about how traditional local girls pick their fiance.

Seeing a bull along the way,

Danny hurriedly posed next to it. He dared not stand too near coz he was afraid the bull would headbutt his ass.

Around evening time, we decided to leave the place... walked out to the entrance area and saw people filming.

Cambodian actors!
They seem to be filming some confrontation scene.

Looking around, we saw something we havent seen for days:

a sparkling clean car!!!! Woah, that must have been the nicest and cleanest car we've seen in Cambodia!

The cars there are usually the old models of toyota camry..and in a dusty state.

While waiting for our driver to fetch us, we had some interesting sights :

This cultural village is not only a hit among locals..but also the
monks!!!

When there is no toilet around,
use a water bottle!

-

We went Pub street for dinner. Our driver dropped us there..and left for the night. Good..so we can take our first tuk tuk ride...to go back hotel!

This is Siem Reap's most happening place. Something like Clarke Quay to us.

Interesting pubs/restaurants:

ANGKOR WHAT?

Temple Bar

Kamasutra

After checking out the places, we settled on this restaurant with nice ambiance :
Khmer Family Restaurant

Simply because buy 2 cocktails get 1 cocktail free =X We had Banana Daiquiri, White Russian (like coffee liquor), and South Comfort (peach) =)

Their pizza there is the best!! Wah, havent had such nice pizza for a long time! It was so good, we decided to pack 1 more back to hotel!

Walked around after that to look for souvenir shop coz we're leaving the next day... last min shopping!! I was looking for a painting for my dad. he wanted to visit angkor wat.. but since he couldnt, i bought a mini angkor wat painting..haha the idea is there lah!!

Took a tuk tuk back. wow! its cooling! Dropped by a supermarket to get some tidbits back to SG too..saw all sorts of small bottles of alcohol...so we bought 1 of each as collectables.

After travelling for some time, he realized he went the wrong way. I was happy, as that meant that we could ride on tuk tuk longer for same amount of $$. =P We came to some places that was very dark and we had never passed by b4...i was beginning to get worried =/ Then, he finally went to this shortcut path with many potholes and....we know we are back to the hotel!! Normally in the car, this road shakes us around... yeah, thats why we can feel the way back! On the tuk tuk, it was worsT!! I almost flew off the seat!! Felt myself in the air for some moments~ lol~! Laughed all the way coz its super fun!!! Cheap thrill~

Had to pack up le... coz our flight is in the morning.

Sobs, it felt like a dream...and its ending!! If only we could not go back... but its not possible..and its quite expensive here.

I enjoyed this wonderful holidays with him =)))) want to go another holidays with him soon!
