Vietnamese Culture - Day 2

We set off in the early morning to experience some Vietnamese culture in some nearby islands.

On the bus, we were given packets of milk.. woo.. never seen milk packaged this way b4..

We were quite lost about what to do with it.. so i asked the Vietnamese sitting on my right.. so, we were to tear a small hole in the corner and suck!
tastes good!~

we headed to this jetty for a short boat ride to neighbouring islands..

on the boat, a Vietnamese guy brought super a lot of 'baby oranges'.. nice of him to give us some to try when we asked him wad it is..

hahaha i tink its the nicest orange i ever ate.. coz its veryvery sweet!

along the boatride, we saw this bridge construction..
then, i thought to myself.. maybe the next time i come back Vietnam, it will be completed.. n wondered how different would it look. hmms.

we transited to a smaller boat.. to row thru the mangroves..

it was a nice serene feeling.. except that my boatmates were making a lot of noise.. haha.. with daniel around, theres no peace 1..

a penny for my thoughts?

this trip is full of crazy attempted jump shots.. however, they were mostly unsuccessful and serve to show that we're lousy and uncoordinated!
roomie, ur jump is so nice-o here!

and terry's always on the ground!

we were served some nice honey drink..
made from the in-house bees!

some got a go at holding the bees.. the thing is - once u drop it, i think everyone would be dead..
terry smiling at the bees

jeremy - interested in michelle

Ryan - Jeremy says we'll make a cute couple

hohoho...time for some vietnamese music!!
"o banjo.. we're vietnam! lalala lololo! o banjo...! ..."

daniel spent a dollar on this.. which he tot was a flute..
but no sound came out no matter how he blew.. after consulting the Vietnamese, its a damn RECORDER!! daniel, u toots!! =P

This is the so-called Monkey Bridge!
i stayed behind to take shots for some of them.. was holding a total of 3 cams.. so when i crossed over, i was alone...

i heard some laughters at me.. diao.. their cameras in my hand still dare to laugh at me.. the joke was Ryan said that this bridge looks a bit too difficult for me.. haha thanks ah...

we watched for awhile how this lady did these woodworks.. super interesting sia..
i was so amazed i bought 1 too.. very ex thou.. $12.50.

Vicky and me
a pretty Vietnamese who clicked quite well.. she speaks english and mandarin too!

interesting tree.. thought it looked like a wig

beautiful garden :)

on the boat ride to the next location, we got free coconut juice!

it was when i learnt from roomie that, big coconut = not sweet juice but a lot of meat whereas small coconut = sweet juice but little meat.

next stop, some gets a go at fishing!!
daniel dressed as a vietnamese gong fu fighter

while standing at the sides and watching them catch fish, i dunno wad i was doing..n accidentally flicked my slipper down into the water.............
diao -_-" i stared at it helplessly for a long while.. hahaha.. i felt super stupid.

good thing it was the place they were fishing.. so they took it and threw it back up.

in the end, Vietnamese are still better at this sort of things.. most of them din catch much stuff.. cept for this Vietnamese guy.. wah.. catch fish like its super easy.

then, we let the vietnamese ladies do the cooking job..

as we slacked and waited for our meal.. hehes..

in the end, we had a sumptuous fish feast!! we had fish cooked in every single possible way..
super delicious man.. e 2nd best meal next to the first in pho24! but my table like fish-wolves.. din get to eat much.. and its always wiped out.. whereas for other tables, heard they din finish all.. bah.. wasTED!!

Back to mainland.. we visited a temple.
the Buddha status was huge.. n pretty =) but the bottom part was still under construction..

inside,

many arms sebby.. and i just realized.. an extra pair of legs with blue crocs..
(i dun care how comfortable crocs are.. u look like a dumbass in it!!) =X

outside the temple.. we watched anna ate a duck egg.. with a baby duck inside.. omG... its so cruel......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the remains.. poor duckling.. enjoyment on the expense of a duckling.. it still haven open its eyes n see the world yet.. den died an uncalled for death..

for the last place of the day, we went to their "zoo" / "snake farm"

im brave!! not scared of snakes..!

the place was generally quite boring.. i prefer to sightsee!! most of the things we saw can be seen in singapore zoo de. =/

we took a (lot of) group photo(S)!!!!!!!! haha.. just use 1 or 2 cams take can already wad.. everyone oso passed their camera to the poor guy.. DIAO!! cept me.. coz i am considerate!

ok, i shall try to recall everyone's name.. (sorry if i dont remember urs!)
